    Anstruther
Anstruther is a small town divided by a small stream , the Dreel Burn. The town is located in one of the most scenic areas in Fife, Scotland. Anstruther is sometimes regarded by locals as twin town due to the partition of the stream .This town was originally a fishing village and continues the tradition to the present day, but its current main industry is tourism. Scottish Fisheries Museum resides here where you can view first hand the crafts that have been passed down the generations. The many boats moored in the harbour are actually few compared to the fleet a decade or 2 ago. The town also has a golf course which might not be comparable to St.Andrews it does challenge all visitors for pros to amateurs. The Anstruther Fish Bar is an award winning traditional fish and chip shop. It has attained the converted awards in both 2002 and 2009 and close runner up the years in between.
    Local Attractions

The Botanical gardens in St Andrews are within range and these stunning gardens date way back to 1889 and cover in total about 18 acres. The many greenhouses hold plants that would not survive without the rarefied artificial atmosphere created in the houses. such as south East Asia varieties.
The surrounding area has been landscaped with the visitor in mind and everything is open to the public. I would also recommend a visit to the Deer farm at Cupar. The sense of witnessing these majestic beasts while driving through fields will stay with you long after your stay. There is also a daily falcon show that should not be missed.
St Andrews aquarium is a great way to sround of the day. The appropriately themed stairways lead on to exhibits with sharks, rays and other sea life. Craigburn Park is also a great place to allow the children to play as it contains an adventure playground.

The Secret Nuclear Bunker, not so secret anymore, is a bunker that is 100 feet underground. It is beneath a Scottish farmhouse and is the size of two football fields. For those fans of Fallout you can live the dream.
It is possible to visit several castles in the area such as Kellie castle. Kellie castle was restored in the 19th century and is an excellent example of 14th century design. St Monans Windmill which is near St Monans salt pan has a view of Forth estuary and has interactive displays.
There are several coastal walks including Elie to Pittenweem, Leven to Elie, Pittenweem to Crail and Crail to St Andrews. The coastline in this area is truly breathtaking and a gentle walk through this area will never get old.
